15 representatives of women’s Roma and pro-Roma organizations and activists members of the informal Network for Women’s Roma Rights strengthened their capacities for advocacy and lobbying
Training for Advocacy and Lobbying, and creation of an Advocacy Action Plan was conducted from the middle to the end of June, 2024, intended for the members of the informal Network for Roma Women’s Rights. Through this training, the participants had the opportunity to strengthen their capacities, and leveled up their skills and knowledge for advocacy in order to better influence local and national policies and agendas for the protection and prevention of domestic and gender-based violence against women and girls.
The training was conducted in two sets, the first set was conducted online covering the introductory part of Advocacy and defining relevant local issues for advocacy and lobbying to support Roma women and girls in preventing gender-based violence. While the second set was conducted in Veles, where the participants got to know the elements and methods of advocacy, analysis of stakeholders and relevant local issues through advocacy and lobbying. The last day of the training was focused on creating an Action Plan for advocacy to support Roma women and girls in the protection and prevention of gender-based and domestic violence. The training was facilitated by the trainer Zoran Stojkovski.
