STARTING OF PROJECT “Equal Opportunities for Roma Women to Participate in Labor Market

Project mail goal:

Strengthening the knowledge of Roma women for gender equality and the possible ways of changing stereotypical approach to the labor market aiming at increasing the integration of women in the market through professional workshops and trainings.

 

Objectives:

Increasing employment opportunities for Roma women through the development of key skills and qualifications by attending specific training tailored to their individual needs. Supporting ideas for self-employment of Roma women, by attending training on creating a business plan, developing business ideas and employment through their own business. Support through other tools and ways of unemployed Roma women in order to be closer to employment opportunities.

 

Target group:

  • 100 work-capable, unemployed Roma women from Skopje (aged 20-55 years);
  • 45 women eligible for re-training;
  • 20 men that are supporting their wives will receive information on new opportunities.

Expected results:

  • 4 months of information campaign
  • 6 months training period
  • 20 unemployed Roma women with an improved CV, and with acquired interview and personal presentation skills will be ready to apply for a job
  • 10 unemployed Roma women knowledgeable in developing a business plan and with an already developed business plan;
  • 10 unemployed Roma acquired new skills (tailors, hairdressers, make-up artist, nail designers, computer designers)
  • 5 unemployed women prepared for employment with new skills
  • 5 business ideas supported with equipment to starting a business in the Training Center of the Project
  • 6 months of daily educational center for 30 children
  • 5 students in Pedagogy / sociology with Internship
  • 10 volunteers using project management
  • 1 Mini Fair organized to promote developing businesses and craft skill
