Due to the low percentage of Roma women’s participation in decision-making and policy making, RAZM “Luludi” has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the inclusion of Roma women in political processes.
The target groups of this project are 5 Roma political parties, 20 Roma women members of political parties, 10 Roma women interested in getting involved in a political party. Most of the activities are envisaged to be implemented in the communities with a significant number of Roma inhabitants, such as: Suto Orizari, Ciglana, Cair, Topaana, Gjorce Petrov and Madzari.
The duration of the project is 12 months and includes the following activities: 5 meetings with political leaders, 5 meetings with women involved in politics increased cooperation with political parties and inclusion of their political party members in all phases of the project.
The immediate outcome of the project is Roma women to be involved in the decision-making process at national and local level, strengthening the capacities of Roma women in advocating their rights, participating in the activities of the political Parties and their involvement in election candidate list.
Project goals:
- Roma women to become aware of gender inequality in the Macedonian society;
- Roma women to strengthen their capacities to participate in political parties and to be included in the election candidate list;
- Strengthening Roma capacities for advocating gender issues in political parties.
